Parker Legwear salutes the Sierra Club for over 115 years of service to the environment, and is proud to partner with such a committed and dynamic organization while following the high standards of ecological responsibility the club puts forth.

Since pioneering naturalist John Muir founded the club in 1892, it has grown into America's largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization, with over 1.4 million members.

Muir (1838-1914) traveled the world in search of nature's beauty, writing and drawing sketches all along the way. He would become our nation's most widely recognized conservationist and naturalist, frequently called "The Father of our National Parks."

It's a fitting title, as Muir's words and actions inspired President Theodore Roosevelt to make a Presidential Proclamation establishing our first national monuments, and to spearhead the creation of Yosemite National Park. Muir's writings also contributed to the establishment of other national parks including Sequoia, Mount Rainier, Petrified Forest and Grand Canyon.
